About Lifelong Learning in London

The CWU in London is providing courses to over 250 members per quarter – why not join them?

London is the most heavily populated region in the CWU and has different needs to other areas.Journeys of a few miles can take a long time and members often work in different areas to where they live. This means that local branches have to work closely together to provide learning opportunities to CWU members.  The aim is to create learning opportunities for all our members irrespective of location which means that in addition to having our own learning centres we link up with other trade unions, community organisations and learning providers.

The success of the CWU learning agenda is reliant on the Union Learner Representatives (ULRs) working with members at local level.  Most London branches now have Union Learning Reps who will be able to keep you regularly informed of the opportunities on offer. Our ULRs are Matrix accredited to offer the best information and advice possible to members looking to improve their existing skills or gain new ones.  If you'd like to know more about ULRs then click here or speak to your local ULR.

Learning Centre Course Information

We are committed to providing the course you want at the time, place and price that suits you (wherever possible we provide courses free of charge). If you are interested in taking a course please click on the Branches link at the top of the page. If your Branch name is listed click to see who your local contact is and what courses they are currently running. If you Branch name isn't listed please use the Contact link to speak to the Regional Learning Officers.

We are constantly looking for and developing learning opportunities so if you know of any learning activities taking place in your area please let your local ULR or one of the Regional Learning Officers know so we can circulate the information to other CWU Members in that area.
